Strengthening industry connections and preparing students for the future of painting
On Monday 19 May 2026, Genesis International College was delighted to welcome Nicola Chapman and Marita Michael from the Dulux Training Academy to our South Morang campus.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our industry partnership, tour the campus, and discuss how we can better prepare our Certificate III in Painting and Decorating students for the evolving demands of the industry.

• New fast-finish paint systems
• Increasing adoption of spray painting
A Significant Industry Opportunity
The Dulux team highlighted that while spray painting is becoming increasingly popular across the industry, there is still a noticeable skills gap, even among many experienced painters.
This is excellent news for our students, who can gain a real competitive advantage by developing these in-demand skills at Genesis.
Welcome to the Genesis Industry Expert Panel
We are very proud to announce that both Nicola Chapman and Marita Michael have accepted our invitation to join the Genesis Industry Expert Panel. Their ongoing input will help us keep our painting courses current, practical, and closely aligned with real industry expectations.
We also discussed the possibility of a future site visit to the Dulux Merrifield manufacturing facility, which will be a valuable learning experience for both students and staff.
